Rehearsals and Recital to be held at Nixa High School
Please treat the theater with respect – no food or drink allowed in the auditorium.
No running, yelling or other disruptions allowed that would distract or interrupt the progress of rehearsal.
Please enter the theater with a calm and focused demeanor. We have a lot of work to get done and everything will go smoother and more quickly if we stay on task. There will be plenty of time for fun – on stage performing for family and friends! This what you have worked hard for all year, so enjoy your time in the spotlight!!
Thursday, June 7th, 5:30pm – Technical Rehearsal
All parents and dancers please be seated in the theater at 5:30pm for a short informational meeting with Miss Holly. Parents will then take dancers backstage. 3-4’s and 5-6 year olds will exit with a parent to the lobby and down the hall to the dressing room. All other dancers will remain in the hallway until Act II. This rehearsal will officially begin at 6:00 pm. Dancers should have their hair up out of their face and be in dance attire. No costumes at Tech rehearsal. Technical rehearsal is notoriously slow due to the setting of lights and sound cues for the show. We ask for your patience and cooperation during this rehearsal. It is crucial that parents and on lookers are quiet and do not distract during this process. Once Act I rehearsal is completed, including final bows, all 3-4 and 5-6 year old dancers should be picked up quickly from the dressing room by a parent. All other dancers will then enter the dressing room area for Act II.
Friday, June 8th, 5:30pm – Dress Rehearsal
This rehearsal will run like the Recital. There will be no pauses in the run unless absolutely necessary. 3-4 and 5-6 year old dancers should come dressed in their first costume. All other dancers change into their first costume upon arrival in the Common Area restrooms. Please have all costumes and shoes labeled with student names. You will be receiving an email and handout slip from your student’s instructor soon detailing type of hair style, what color/type of tights, shoes, makeup and other accessories to have with each dance piece.
Saturday, June 9th, 10:00am – Recital
Dancers are required to be at the theater by 10:00 am. The performance will start at 11:00 am. Reminder – label all shoes and costumes.
Rules for the Show
Young dancers arrive to the theater with their costumes on the day of the Recital. Please make sure they are covered with a loose fitting robe to protect them from dirt and debris, etc.
There will be no cokes, cool-aid or colored drinks of any kind allowed backstage. Only water. If your child needs a snack please pack them plain crackers or something along those lines.
The use of cameras and camcorders during the rehearsal and performances is not allowed. The lights and flashes cause a distraction to our dancers.
Recital DVDs
All Occasion Video will be taping the performance again this year! See the DVD Sign Up Sheet in the Lobby. Cost is $32.00.
